How come in Witchaven's GDX, they don't have midi types like Gravis Ultrasound, General Midi, Roland MT-32, and Sound Blaster/ Ad Lib (OPL2)? Aside of that, the music in the first level sounds very awkward and not like how it was in the DOS engine. Are you planning on fixing that issue?

Sorry to posting here, since I don´t know why I can´t post in the forums after I register. Don´t know if it´s a bug or a glitch, but playing without vsync and no fps limiter makes images "warp" effect when I turn left or right (with the mouse)

That didn´t happen with Redneck Gdx old version but now it happens with the new version (and setting fps limiter or vsync ruins the smooth of control and inputs)

This effect called horizontal tearing and it always appears in fullscreen mode. There is one of such posts: https://forums.duke4.net/topic/9939-vsync-and-framerate-problems/

People recommend using borderless mode

Приветствую, я уже обращался по поводу проблем с конфигурационным файлом BloodGDX.ini, и они конкретизировались:

1: Чтоб изменения закрепились, BloodGDX.ini приходилось править в редакторе, игра конфиг не перезаписывает.

2, и главное: Лаунчер видит этот конфиг, и даже подватывает из него некоторые секции (маппинг клавиш управления, например), но не подхватывает много важного, как-то разрешение дисплея, тип мидиустройства, тип видеотекстур, и проч. Эти изменения тоже не удаётся закрепить, и вручную их включать достаточно утомительно (играть без роскошного CD-саундтрека, например - не вариант)

В связи с вышеизложенным, есть огромная просьба дать авторский, так сказать, линк на рабочую болванку этого BloodGDX.ini. Вроде же бы его формат поменялся, скорее всего, всё дело - в этом.

Ещё раз выражаю свою благодарность за отличный, отличный проект. В связке с океаном вполне живых и роскошнейших модов... Нет слов, короче говоря. Жду ответа.

Возможно вы запускаете игру проставив галочку в use "home" directory - при этом все сохранения и настройки будут сыпаться на диск C, что-то вроде username/M210 Projects/BloodGDX. Этого не надо делать, игра по умолчанию уже запускается в режиме portable mode - т.е. все сохранения и настройки будут в вашей папке с игрой.

Удалите все и поставьте порт по-новой - если галку уже проставили, порт почему-то не переходит в другой режим.

Я это сделал специально, чтобы порту впринципе было куда записать конфиг, если прав на запись у него нет...и сейчас, когда столько вопросов "почему он не записывает", вообще думаю над тем, чтобы не давать выбор юзеру и всегда писать в юзер-папку, как это делают все современные игры. Галку я тоже сделал только для совместимости....впринципе ее можно убрать вообще.

На данный момент выбор режима сохранения инфы в лаунчере непонятен - проставляя галку в use "home" directory пользователь думает (скорее всего) что он подтверждает режим portable. И то, что настройки и сохранения окажутся где-то за пределами папки игры - это  оказывается новостью. Я за то, чтобы выбор был - но сделать это более доступным для понимания образом.

I wanted to say how much I love this port effort, and I noticed a new version that works even better and with future support for some of my favorite games like Shadow Warrior and Powerslave.

I have played all these games since the 90´s in native MSDOS, Dosbox, etc. and after playing with BuildGDX I can´t go back; I love how keeps a vanilla feeling using polymost but with high resolutions and how well work these games right now with mouse for aiming.

I´ll try my best giving some donations to this project anytime I can, since I prefer to donor for this instead buy new games. Thank you so much.

Hey I just have another question, maybe a dumb one, but I don't seem to remember reading it in the README of the FAQ.

Can you tell me where BuildGDX stores the game saves? I'd like to make backups to carry my progress to another machine.

You need to open the launcher, go to settings of the game you want to back up and push "Open folder" button. The launcher should open the folder with savegame files, settings and a log file

I'm pretty new to PC gaming, and  my issue might just be that I'm dumb, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to run Redneckgdx. I was hoping you could maybe help me or walk me through how to get the game up and running? Haven't played this game since i was like 6 or 7 and was really looking forward to wasting countless hours again like I'm going to do with Blood.

If it helps, I can tell how I set mine from my GOG version.

I made a RR folder in BuildGDX, and two subfolders:

-Route66

-RidesAgain

I put all the GRP/CON/VOC/RTS files of the RR install folder into the root of my subfolder, same for Route66 (+both new ART files).

Then I did the same thing for the Rides Again folder.

Now before I run Redneck GDX, I just choose between the root folder or Rides Again to run the propre GRP file (although you can also choose Rides Again from the User Content option when choosing New Game).

If Rides Again crashes this way, just choose the Rides Again folder before running the Redneck GDX core.

I have tested BuildGDX for around 10 minutes and i really like it a lot! I'm using it mostly for the game Blood ofcourse.

I have used BloodGDX in the past because i liked the extra voxel models it added thanks to the included .zip file, however BuildGDX doesn't have that and that REALLY bothers me!

So... Whatever happended to that .zip file?

i seem to be having an with BloodGDX. it won't save my controller setup. it just goes blank each time i restart a new game. hopefully this goes through. last time i tried to post this, my internet was going all over the place

Hi !

I really really looked forward to BloodGDX but it still does not work well in fullscreen on linux (thought java should be cross platform). I do not see why would anybody download multilauncher which is much bigger this way. Not only this but you now included even java for windows. You can include java for windows and maybe make separate version for windows and separate version for linux ? I really liked so much blood GDX but it's just not going the way it used to be.

I am not just criticizing I really liked this project but it's starting to be something else. Please go back to the previous idea and work on things which are really very necessary for all. If someone on windows does not like to install java there is always portable java you need only to write batch to run the jar is all and it is not really all that matters.

In bloodGDX we need to have graphics more stable on linux and (if everything is finished) graphics in higher resolution even command line arguments.

Multilauncher is not bigger...archive is bigger, because it's include JRE. Now I made two archives - with JRE and without: BuildGDX without JRE

Now about graphics:

I have two UMPC's: Gigabyte U60 and OQO Model 02. Both have a same videocards: Via s3g unichrome pro II igp, both have installed JRE7 and WinXP. On U60 I can use fullscreen mode, but OQO just crashing when I tring to switch to fullscreen. So, the same for Linux - I tested fullscreen mode on Linuxes and it's working...so I don't know why fullscreen mode doesn't works on your PC, but maybe you have such problem like my OQO.

Btw, OpenGL part wrote on native C++, so it's not crossplatform, but compiled for Windows, Linux and MacOS.

In future I want to make JOGL driver instead of LWJGL...maybe it will help you.
