I am happy you are still working on bloodgdx I was afraid you stopped or something. I already wrote few times and I would still write that bloodgdx is amazing and I love it but there are few things which just do not work for me here on linux.

1. This is happening only when I am in fullscreen and I see menu, hud, sprites, weapon blinking. I was setting other drivers but its still blinking no matter what i do please fix it

2. on version 792 paths were working for me ok (my ini file was working in portable mode) and in 793 portable mode is grayed out and i cannot use it I had to configure the game from the beginning

I even test it on windows on my computer and it was working fine (portable mode and no blinking at all). So then it must be some code that is run only on linux.

I see you put multiplayer in the game I am very happy yo uare working on it

I was thinking if in original game there was any sounds when the demo played. I think I remember it more silently in the menu. When you run the game and demo is playing and you are in menu the sound volume could be much lower and if you press escape to watch the demo then the sound volume could be normal.

Very thanks for the update option. I think it is very good. (I am checking for any update every few days manually).

BloodGDX is an amazing project, I really appreciate it.


I'm also interested in reverse engineering/porting games to modern systems. I know some really basic stuff, but I wouldn't be able to do something like this.


Do you have any tips/suggestions for a reverse engineering beginner? What do I need to learn to be able to do something like this?

I think you need to learn an assembler at first. 

I succesfull reversed blood, because I have part of source code...build engine for example. This sources very helps to find same codes in reversed texts.

RE was more easier after I found build engine methods.

Thanks for the WitchavenGDX, which seems to  currently be the only working Witchaven source port out there at the moment, regadless of being just v0.500


However, I'm wondering if there is some sort of reference to KeyDefinition values? As I'd like to set my spells to numpad (funnily enough, there isn't next/previous spell option), but I have absolutely no idea of the expression I need to use to set them in the ini :/

KeyNames is same as in BloodGDX, so, you can copy your keydefenities from BloodGDX.ini to WHGDX.

In future I will make workable menu, but after BloodGDX network code and RRGDX

Thanks a lot for GDX, it's really awesome!

I have a question: Is it possible to use scalers (2xsai, supereagle, etc...) in GDX? I used to use them with DOSBox and I think it would be cool to have it in your port as well.

I think it's possible. But I want to make multiplayer at first. Maybe at future I will make such filters

Thanks for your hard work

In recent Update it seems savegame algorithm has an issue with mods

when I load my savegame it loads E1M1 from original Blood & I can't play mods anymore

please check this , thank you

no my internet connection is good. maybe it was somethins withs hosting in here ? yes I can turn off update check in-game but to get there I was having to wait so long and what about people which just want to copy bloodgdx to some pc which maybe is not even connected to the internet at all ? just to play favorite old game (which in my opinion will never get old )

no no no... it's not that wait

I mean could you just make updating as an option which can be unticked on the main window and a button to check for update for those who want to check for it? that way whenever there would be anything bad going on with the server it still not would be a problem to play the game.
